Hi Parents,

I clicked on this video this morning as I wanted to post some rhymes for the little ones to enjoy and also help as reinforcement of rhyming for the little ones as some of them were having difficulty with the concept of identifying the words that rhyme. The first thing I realized about this video was that the narrator had an Indian accent. The first thing I thought was maybe I should look for another one. Then I said to myself (an no myself did not say “Yow!”, # Porgie and Murda) why should I.  After all, we live in a world with a multiplicity of nationalities ,races and cultures and we should expose children to them and not allow them to live in a vacuum.  We must expose them to the diverse world in which we live at every opportunity we get.  So parents, here are the nursery rhymes (many of them known and well-liked by the little ones) with the Indian lady.  I hope they enjoy and by extension, you guys enjoy as well.

Of course after watching you can discuss with your little one the difference between the accent of the lady and the children and their own accent. Then of course you guys can research some interesting stuff about India.

Wishing everyone a  great week ahead,

Miss Foster

Good Morning Parents,

How are you guys doing? How are the little ones doing?  I hope that they are spending their summer in a safe environment and learning lots of new stuff.

How are the reinforcement activities coming on? I hope you guys have been encouraging the oral conversations with your kids and giving them opportunities to practise their hand writing skills and  numeracy skills, among others?  Today is Monday so I’ll be back alittle later to make a Monday Maths  post.

A special shout out to my regular visitors: Tamara Warner, MasterTeigan, Dennis & Tina Barnett, Little Miss Destiny, Marsha Strand and Joshie!!!!!!!!!

Have a great day folks and enjoy every moment with your little one.  They get big way too fast.

Until this afternoon,

Miss Foster

Many, Many Thanks

It would be amiss of me if I did not take a moment to come here to say a heartfelt thank you to you my parents.

It has been a good year.  Many of you have worked cooperatively to ensure that I had a fantastic teaching experience and for that I commend you and thank you tremendously.

I will definitely enjoy my summer thanks to Teigan’s, Destiny’s and Joshua’s parents. They went out of their way to show me appreciation for my work this year and for this I am saying thank you so very much. I will definitely enjoy my gift this summer. These parents got together and bought me an all inclusive catamaran cruise and a voucher for the spa.  What more could a teacher ask for? On top of that, they surprised me with this gift yesterday at school.  I was pleasantly surprised.

Parents once again I say thank you, thank you , thank you. I can’t say it enough. I  feel like a Class Four teacher.

Well, just to let you guys know, I’m not just dropping off the map.  I plan to make some posts here during the summer so as to keep our kids on top of their game.

Have a great summer everyone and be sure to stay safe.

Love you guys,

Miss Foster
